As the name suggests, ecoprint comes from the word eco, the origin of the word ecosystem (nature) and print, which means to print. This batik is made by printing with materials found in the surrounding nature as fabric, dyes, or pattern makers. The materials used are leaves, flowers, stems, and even twigs.

Ecoprint batik is a type of batik whose production method uses natural dyes from tannin or leaf, root or stem dyes which are placed on a piece of cloth, then the cloth is boiled.
